Getting Started with Clever

Create your Clever development app, access the dashboard, build your integration, and prepare it for certification.

Step 1: Create your development application

Register for your development application at apps.clever.com/signup.
Request access to additional integration types if you need them:
- For Clever Single Sign-On, Clever Secure Sync, or Clever LMS Connect, contact [email protected].
Build in a sandbox district environment during development.
Plan for certification before working with live district data:
- Access to live district data requires Clever certification.
- Learn more in Certification Overview.
Contact [email protected] if you need a multi-application environment.

Sign in with the dashboard account created for you during sign-up.
- Your username is your email address.
- You set your password when you accept the invite to your account.
Configure dashboard SSO if you want to manage dashboard access through SAML.
- Dashboard SSO uses a SAML connection.
- During setup and testing, password access remains available for admin users and can remain available afterward by request.
- After SSO verification, password logins are disabled by default unless you request otherwise.

If you want to build without a Clever Complete subscription, start with Clever Library - Overview.

Then use the relevant product guide to build and test your integration.

When your build is complete and ready to go live on Clever, submit your app for certification.
