What is Clever Certification?

This collection of pages provides an overview of the certification processes and requirements for Clever integrations.

Clever aims to help you design and build an excellent integration, ensuring you deliver an unparalleled experience for your users. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for both your customers and your team when you go live with Clever.

Integrations must be secure, resilient, and scalable. Based on our experience with application partners across the country, we have devised core requirements that integrations must meet to connect with live districts and access production data, including user records and enrollment information.

The specific requirements are detailed in the following pages.

After building and testing your integration with a Clever development app, submit a survey answering key questions about how it works. We will review your survey responses and your integration for architectural best practices.

Which certification do I need?

To connect with live districts on Clever and obtain a production account, your application must be certified by our Partner Engineering team. The certification process varies depending on the integration type you've chosen. Below are the different certification processes based on the integration type:

1. Clever Library Certification
2. Clever Single Sign-On (SSO) Certification
3. Clever Secure Sync Certification
4. Clever LMS Certification

How do I get started with my integration?

Once you've selected your integration type, you'll need to collaborate with your development team to start building the integration. Here are some helpful resources to guide you through each integration:
