How Long Does it Take?

The time it takes to build an LMS Connect integration with Clever varies depending on your business needs, data model, and technical constraints. We typically allow 1 - 2 weeks to complete the certification after submission.

Certification Process

1. Build Integration: Complete your Clever LMS Connect integration.
2. Submit for Certification: Submit your integration for certification review.
3. Review: Our Partner Engineering team will review your integration in accordance with our Certification requirements.
4. Results and Next Steps: Receive an email with your certification results and recommended next steps. If needed, we will schedule a call to discuss your integration in greater detail.

Checklist

Ensure your integration meets the requirements listed below.

Pre-launch checklist

• Confirm lms_state shows that LMS matching is complete before writing assignments or submissions.
• Use the district-app token and API v3.1 for LMS Connect requests.
• Store assignment IDs when assignments are created.
• Set 15–60 second timeouts for assignment and submission writes.
• Follow grade-passback pagination links within two hours.
• Test provider-specific requirements for every LMS you support.
• Validate signed LTI 1.3 launch tokens before using launch claims.
