Build an AnySchool CSV or SFTP Rostering Integration

Use AnySchool to onboard a district that is not already on Clever and ingest its roster data through CSV upload, SFTP, or a supported data source.

Prerequisites

Request AnySchool access for your development app.
Confirm the district’s intended data source is supported.
Use Secure Sync onboarding and matching practices for the district after its data is connected.

1. Understand the integration model

AnySchool is not a separate API or data model. After a district connects its data source, retrieve its data with the same schema, endpoints, and district-app token model used for Secure Sync districts.

2. Invite the district

In the Clever App Dashboard, go to Home > Invite Districts > Add an AnySchool District. Name the district, send the email invite, and ask the district administrator to complete the hosted setup flow.

3. Select a supported data source

Supported sources include Infinite Campus, Skyward, Blackbaud, additional OneRoster API connections, CSV upload, and SFTP Directory.

For CSV upload, the district administrator uploads users.csv and sections.csv. For SFTP Directory, upload the same files to the required anyschool subdirectory.

4. Match existing customer records

When converting an existing customer, match existing records to Clever data before relying on the connection. Use your own matching workflow or Clever Matchmaker when appropriate.

5. Test before inviting a live district

Use a development app and test district to complete the email invitation, CSV upload, processing, token retrieval, and API query flow end to end.
